Our Gold Collection of Murphy Bed’s are made using Birch Hardwood and Beech Solid. Birch is a very attractive hardwood that provides intricate swirls and a uniquely stylish appearance. This can be even further expanded upon or hidden depending on the finish or color option that you select.
Birch is a durable and timeless hardwood that expands and contracts with changes in humidity and may color over time as it’s exposed to air, sunlight and wear. Our premium grade solid woods and solid wood veneers are sustainably harvested from domestic sources.
Our veneers are created by slicing thin sheets from solid wood and applying them over core panels. Using veneers in combination with solid wood gives greater stability while reducing expansion and contraction due to humidity.

What is the purpose of the room?
Consider the purpose of the room and the area around the wall bed. Is this space going to be a high-traffic area or otherwise prone to scratching or dinging the bed? Would a Horizontal Wallbed work better in your space? Will there be small children or animals? Lacquered finishes over pressed wood can resist a lot of abuse without scratching or scuffing however paint may not be the best option in this case Our murphy wall beds are available in several hardwoods, including oak, maple, alder, knotty alder, hickory, cherry, mahogany, and walnut. We use hardwoods as they are both more resistant to damage and provide increased strength and durability to our murphy wall beds, murphy desk beds, and murphy style cabinet beds.

With our custom paint match, we can create the perfect murphy bed style to match your room or you could choose a color/finish that adds what the room is missing and compliments the existing style. How to Care for your Gold Collection Wallbed
Inspect your Murphy Wall bed annually to ensure that it is still securely fastened to the wall. Dust with a soft, clean cloth slightly moistened with water, and dry completely with another clean cloth, always rubbing with the grain. Avoid contact with cigarettes, hot dishes, and harsh solvents such as nail polish, alcohol, and moisture. Use pads beneath accessories and when writing or eating. Remove spills and smudges immediately. Do not leave pliable plastic materials on a wood surface; they can damage the finish. Do not place furniture near heat outlets, windows, or in direct sunlight.
